Sustainable TEDU: CO-DESIGN Meeting-II

The second of the CO-DESIGN Meetings, which was held by TEDU Sustainability Working Group (Sustainable TEDU) was held on February 25, 2022 with the participation of representatives of student societies in the online environment. The purpose of this meeting is to determine a road map for the comprehensive inclusion of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in university processes together with student stakeholders.

 

The opinions and suggestions of the participants regarding the concrete action steps to be included in this roadmap were discussed in 2 axes through the Miro application:

 

  • Governance (TEDU operation/services)
  • Service/contribution to the community

 

For each component; Practical, concrete, measurable, traceable and short/medium-term recommendations were collected that will create a permanent positive social impact. At the meeting, students were also asked about the priority SDGs for TEDU. According to the answers received, the first 5 SDGs are as follows:

 

SKA 4 - Qualified Education

SKA 3 - Health and Quality of Life

SDG 5 - Gender Equality

SDG 10 - Reducing Inequalities

SKA 7 - Accessible and Clean Energy

In the first CO-DESIGN meeting held with TEDU academic/administrative staff and student representatives, the aims of 'Quality Education', 'Gender Equality', 'Reducing Inequalities', as well as 'Responsible Production and Consumption' and 'Sustainable Cities and Communities' were prioritized. 

 

Sustainable TEDU working group has started negotiations to implement these proposals in the short and medium term.
